Definitely not worth buying...

This small App is the easiest way to get the sound of vintage grooveboxes. It has the cheesy Vintage-Look and feeI we all like so much. It offer 36 User-Presets and each preset can use different groovebox sounds which makes the grooves very variable. My wishlist : Song-Mode , FXs (synch Delay, Filter) and of course more Drumbox-Sound-Sets or Sample-Import.

This is really great and fun to play with. And its really not expensive... everybody should have this :-) would be really cool if you could record rhythms via the pads.

this thing definately rocks! best little beatbox on my ipad so far. try it! its easy to set up and the interface is userfriendly and logical. a little wish as always is to have triplets and 3/4 measures, so hey there, do that in anupdate.

Hello Very well laid out app with a rich feature set. The developers have been very creative and clear in their GUI design, making the app an intuitive experience. Though there are many drum apps available with the same feature set (or a larger feature sets), the attention to GUI design and layout places FunkBox with a clear advantage, namely: Playability. This is the best beat making app Ive tried and ive tried quite a few. Just wish there was a synth too

Its like stepping back in time and having many of old drum machines at your finger tips.

Loved the previous version. The simplicity, the drum machines, all were perfectly fine for my needs. Now all my patterns are gone (disappeared) and the new savable user machines run very slow and just make a bad experience. I dont need a hundred versions of a CR78. Plus the bass drum sounds on the new version arent as fat as the old version. Please revert back to the old version. Wish I didnt buy this app now.

This app is pretty awesome if youre looking for some drum samples like I was (I was getting bored of Nano Studios drum kits) The only problem is when I paste the audio into Nano Studio, its so quiet. Like, deathly quiet. I can use a compressor and use the mixer and all to boost the sound, but it would be nice if I didnt have to do that. If you do this you get that extra star. Cheers

Hands down the best drum machine on iOS and rivals both software and real world boxes. It certainly has helped me to appreciate them and collect a few special chosen hardware candidates - and FUNK BOX works well with all of them ~ especially the Yamaha RX-5. FEATURE REQUESTS: Would like to see a way to implement different number of steps on the grid - 16 and 12 not just 32 steps. This has been support suported and well documented too Thanks for doing a pdf manual !! Totally recommend~ little midi machine as well ~ great software!!!

The interface is beautiful, they have countless super fun drum machines with full sets of data. Theyre manual is extensive. Theyre working on compatibility, so when I ran into a bug - or what I thought was a bug - I emailed synthetic bits and received a detailed, thorough, personalized orientation email. Very impressed with this app and company. Keep it up!!

Ive been using FunkBox for a couple of years now. They keep adding more functionality to it, but its still really easy to use. Its fun to just fool around with it sometimes. Funkbox can flawlessly emulate those cheesy old drum machines you might find on an organ in someones rec room, but you can reprogram any of the beats you to make them funkier, change the swing, mix the levels, or completely reprogram them. It also has inter-app audio compatibility, as well as Midi, so you can take advantage of it with tons of iOS audio apps or external midi devices.

App crashes, Cannot open it anymore under iOS 7.

I cant see any good reason for this limitation - for example I have to decide if I have a handclap or a high tom in my 808 pattern, because I cant have both! If I have a handclap, I cant program a groove made from high and low toms. If I choose to have a handclap and a cowbell, there are no toms available at all! This makes no sense! Why cant I freely choose what sound I use for all 8 parts in my pattern?

FunkBox is a masterpiece: the more I use it the more I love it. Everything just Works and because of that the workflow is super liquid. After ages of using it I keep finding new things it can do and does better than any other app. Dont be fooled by the simplicity as thats just brilliant UI design and the stock Box (i.e. samples) are the stuff beat making dreams are made of And you can mix-and-match And import your own samples. This is a pure must-have.

This is what Ive been looking for; that I couldnt find in other apps such as the joke of an app NI iMaschine v.1 and 2 and the MPC app. I can chain more than one sequence together etc. I was almost convinced that I was going to have to buy actual hardware but I can now do everything I wanted right on my phone. This is simple enough to not get discouraged. It makes sense from the first few minutes after you open it. Laid out well and there is a 40 page manual you can download to iBooks. I do industrial metal and this has a load of classic drum machines no extra downloads required.

Rendering to wav and getting it to a universal location is the easiest Ive seen. U can email yourself the wav and get it from anywhere. With all the Dropbox drive iCloud crud they make you use. This one at least puts that back in your hands. And it sounds awesome as is very easy to use. Sly stone. Phil Collins. How about the Em-u or HR16B?

Has potential to be useful in a studio setting if only the MiDi Accent and Volume/Mute Parameters would transmit like in MoDrum. Please make it so!!!!!!!

Bought it to have a sketch pad for beats on my iPhone, pretty cool on the iPad too. Good sounds, love that I can import my own samples too, that made it for me. What also rocks about this app is the simplicity & as others have said the over the top retro interface. If you ever used those older boxes you know how simple they are, and how non-intuitive some step sequencers can be. Definitely worth a few bucks to me..

Works and sounds good. Had trouble exporting midi though. Files seem to be corrupt but might be on my end. Good product overall.
